This Electrical Safety course will prepare you with the essential knowledge necessary to stay safe in the electrical field. The course begins with an overview of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), which oversees jobsite safety standards and inspections, followed by a review of dangers of electrical work and the effects those dangers have on the body. Next, you will learn about what personal protective equipment to wear while working and how it is the last line of defense against injury. Next, electrical safety best practices will be presented. You’ll learn about safe techniques and tools that will help to eliminate potential dangers. Finally, we will dive deep into NFPA-70E, define it's terms, cover warning labels, required PPE, and how to establish an electrically safe work condition.

This Electrical Tools course presents three tools frequently used by electrical and HVAC technicians and facilities maintenance professionals: multimeter, non-contact voltage tester, and receptacle tester. The features, functions, and common uses of each tool are presented. The non-contact voltage tester and receptacle tester lessons include instruction on how to use those tools.

In this intermediate course on Electrically Safe to Work Procedures, we will explore the tasks and requirements of establishing safe work conditions while working with electricity. With each scenario, you will be guided with realistic steps of evaluating personal protective equipment based on warning labels and work orders. You will also be directed to the specific articles of code from NFPA-70E, which is the standard for electrical safety in the workplace.

By the end of this course, you will have a better understanding of the kinds of emergencies you may encounter in the workplace and the kinds of emergency preparation and response you and your employer should have in place. You will learn some key emergency management concepts, definitions, and authorities as they are used by skilled tradespeople. You will have the knowledge and tools to start relating emergency response standards to your organization’s specific circumstances, hazards, and requirements.

Learn how to measure, cut, ream, and bend Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) conduit. In this course you'll learn how to measure the run using the ceiling and walls to determine the overall length of conduit you need. Then you'll learn how to adjust for shrink and/or gain in order to cut the correct length of conduit. And finally, you'll get to bend four common angles including a 90, an offset, a 90 and an offset, and a back to back bend.

Learn how to install junction boxes, connectors, bent conduit pieces, and straps onto a concrete wall. In this course you'll learn how to install each item step by step and then you'll get to try it on your own. For each item refer to the detailed electrical drawing, measure and mark where it should go on the wall, drill holes, and install.
