This course is designed to demonstrate how both the Temperature Pressure Chart and Leak Repair Chart are used on the EPA 608 Exam. There are also practice tests designed to replicate the EPA 608 Exam that can be taken multiple times in preparation.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 certification allows technicians to work on appliances and systems that contain regulated refrigerants. This is the first of four courses that can help you prepare for certification. The core exam is required for any type of EPA 608 certification you go for. This course will help you prepare for the core exam, by covering topics such as the Clean Air Act, Montreal Protocol, ozone depletion, and refrigerant identification, blends, handling, and safety.

Type I of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 certification allows technicians to work on small appliances such as refrigerators and small window air conditioning units. This is the second of four courses that can help you prepare for EPA Section 608 certification. This course covers recovery requirements, recovery techniques, and safety measures for small appliances.

Type II of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 certification allows technicians to work on high pressure systems such as heat pumps and convenience store refrigerators. This is the third course of four that can help you prepare for this certification. This course covers leak detection, recovery requirements, recovery techniques, refrigeration, and safety.

Type III of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 certification allows technicians to work on low-pressure systems such as chillers. This is the final course out of four that can help you obtain this certification. This course begins with a review of the material from the core exam, and then covers leak detection, recovery requirements, recovery techniques, refrigeration, and safety.

With the physics, terminology, and basic understanding of an HVAC system, it is time to focus on two very important components: the evaporator and condenser. Although they hold many similarities, they are very different, and play distinct roles in the system. The course starts out with the evaporator, introducing its functions, some new terminology, and methods for quantifying its performance, such as superheat and delta T. Next learn about the condenser functions and its quantifiers, subcooling and condenser split, and what those values translate to in the system. Some maintenance techniques are explored as well, such as coil cleaning and diagnosing mineral deposits.

In this course you'll learn all about vinyl siding including tools, vinyl materials, safety requirements, and techniques used for installation. Then you'll get to install horizontal vinyl siding on the exterior wall of a house in the simulation.

Learn how to build a single level deck for a house. In this course you'll learn about the framing parts that make up a deck and how they fit together. You'll learn about the tools and materials you need along with safety procedures when building a deck. Then you'll get to head to the backyard of the house in the simulation and build a deck!

In this intermediate course on Fall HVAC maintenance, topics such as verifying proper fuel input in gas furnace, burner inspection, carbon monoxide testing, airflow testing, and vent connector inspection will be covered. With each scenario, you will be guided with realistic steps of interaction to complete the maintenance procedures.

Fittings and valves play a vital role in a well function plumbing system. In order to properly install pipes, and to ensure that the system is safe, you need to know which connection part you're going to use. You'll begin this course exploring all of the different pipe fittings, including elbows, branches and couplings, as well as learn the proper application for each. After this, you'll move on to valves, where you'll gain understanding of how each valve works when to use them. This is an essential course to further your knowledge on plumbing piping systems!
