Introduction to Commercial Plumbing will explain the basics on how plumbing systems work in commercial buildings. Beginning with outlining the sides of a commercial plumbing system learners will understand how the water supply side and wastewater/waste drainage side function and connect the building’s plumbing fixtures appliances and drains to the domestic water supply city sewer system and city storm drainage system. They will also understand types of commercial water supply systems on the domestic water supply side such as city water pressure systems and booster pump systems as well as their components. Next learners will dive into the wastewater/waste drainage side of the commercial plumbing system or DWV system to uncover how waste and wastewater are drained to the city sewer system and the components that make up the DWV system. The course concludes with an overview of how stormwater drainage systems convey rainwater and snow away from buildings and paved areas an explanation of the components that make up stormwater drainage systems and an exploration of the importance of stormwater management practices.
