In this course we'll learn about calculating electrical transformer loads to ensure the safe and efficient distribution of electricity. We'll first understand about how load results help adjust electrical distribution and voltage at every stage of the grid. We'll also learn how load results help select the appropriate transformer equipment wiring and overcurrent protection. Next we'll discuss the differences and characteristics between single and three-phase transformers. Finally we'll familiarize ourselves with commonly used calculations for sizing electrical transformers and overcurrent protection based on electrical codes and tables provided by the National Electric Code or the NEC.
