In Electrical Commissioning, you will perform some critical final electrical checks and then get to turn your system on! You use a digital multimeter (DMM) to check for continuity and confirm the identity of the two pairs of wires coming from the array into the inverter. You also check for proper polarity and safety voltage. Finally, you finish your electrical tests using a megohmmeter to confirm that none of your array conductors have compromised insulation that could lead to a ground fault later on. Then you proceed to connect the array conductors to their terminals in the inverter dc switch, and then systematically energize the AC components, beginning with removal of the lockout device on the solar breaker and ending with turning on the inverter.
